Description

Position Overview:
Receives and unloads freight both manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; checks for damaged goods; verifies quantity and quality of order; verifies items received with purchase order; wraps, packages, and ships supplies; delivers and retrieves supplies to and from work or storage areas; tags and issues supplies; stocks shelves and rotates inventory; may receive, store, and ship flammable, or caustic and hazardous material; may maintain equipment.

Other related duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Handling, storing, and shipping materials or supplies
  • Operating material handling equipment, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Accessing information on a computer
  • Review documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Safely operate a forklift to handle material
  • Ability to identify grades and types of sheet metal and pipe
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules
  • Create and maintain a safe and sanitary working environment
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible
  • Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet plant requirement
  • Verify accuracy of on hand material quantities
  • Set bin location son structuring locations
  • Place labels on appropriate material locations
  • Communicates material needs to Supervisors, buyers and vendors
  • Assist in updating BOMs/PNIDs
  • Audit material kits
  • Daily pm/inspections on warehouse forklifts
  • Other various task as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements):

  • High School Diploma, GED, or two (2) years work experience
  • Have 2-3 years work experience in manufacturing setting
  • Intermittent skills with the latest versions of MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.

    Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of facility location will be considered.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years experience in manufacturing inventory position
  • ERP experience
  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps and use ladder.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push/pull using 100lb of force.
  • Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Vision to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens.
  • Outdoor work requiring heavy physical labor
  • Worker is subjected to weather elements and must be accustomed to performing tasks in potentially adverse conditions.
  • Other Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic math skills, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
  • Good written/oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Inventory data entry knowledge
  • Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools, and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Knowledge of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, assets, and techniques used for maximizing the manufacturing of products
  • Must be able and willing to work hours beyond the standard work week schedule when needed
  • This individual should able to support the organizational efforts in continuing to establish a zero incident Safety culture
