**Material Handler - 1st Shift - $18/hr**

**Job Description**

The Material Handler is responsible for performing the physical tasks involved in the receiving, staging, returning, shipping, storage, destruction, and inventory management of products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.

The role includes unpacking and checking material received against purchase orders or invoices, maintaining records of received material, and rejecting unsatisfactory items according to procedural requirements.

The Material Handler picks and stages material for production work orders, packs material for shipments, performs cycle counts, item verification, consolidation, and transfer of material, and adheres to good documentation practices as defined by PCI.

**Responsibilities**

+ Unpack and check materials received against purchase orders or invoices.
+ Maintain records of received materials and reject unsatisfactory items as needed.
+ Pick and stage materials for production work orders.
+ Pack materials for shipments.
+ Perform cycle counts, item verification, consolidation, and transfer of materials.
+ Adhere to good documentation practices defined by PCI.

**Essential Skills**

+ Experience with pallet jack operations.
+ Experience in shipping and receiving.
+ Proficiency with inventory management.
+ Experience with ERP systems is beneficial.
+ Ability to work in cold room environments.
+ Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Smart Sheets.
+ Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
+ Drive and motivation for professional growth.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience with forklifts and RF scanners.
+ Knowledge of packaging, loading, material handling, inventory control, and stocking.
+ Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

**Work Environment**

The work schedule is from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with sporadic overtime related to shipping activities.

Work in cold room environments with temperatures reaching -20 degrees, including opening large freezers.

Dress code requires wearing jackets for cold room activities, with the flexibility to step out for comfort.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
