Material Handling Operator – Underground Mining Operations
The Material Handling Operator is a semi-skilled role responsible for operating and monitoring material handling systems involved in the production process.
These systems may include conveyors, transfer chutes, flow systems, flotation/grind mills, and other mobile and processing equipment.
Employees are expected to work under minimal supervision with a primary focus on safety and production efficiency.
Material Handling Operator – Underground Mining Operations Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor material handling and processing equipment following standard operating procedures Perform routine housekeeping duties including shoveling, hosing, and digging in operational areas Operate mobile equipment safely and effectively Monitor equipment via computer systems and perform data entry Identify and report maintenance or mechanical issues Adhere to all mine safety and operational protocols Complete other duties as assigned
Material Handling Operator – Underground Mining Operations Position Requirements
Minimum six (6) months of experience in a related trade or industrial setting Experience with material handling systems and equipment Must meet Line of Progression (LOP) requirements if applicable Strong commitment to safety standards Prior experience with material handling equipment in mining or industrial environments Valid water operator license Experience in sewer, potable, or industrial water treatment systems
