Summary About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas.
RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles.

Responsibilities Serve as Materials Examiner and Identifier, independently performing the full range of duties required to examine, identify, classify, accept, store, issue, reject, and dispose of the most complex categories of materials and equipment.
Uncrate receipts using such hand tools as crowbars, band cutters, screw drivers, etc., in order to examine and identify the most complex and difficult items received at the activity.
Verify identity, quantity, and condition (including functional operation) of these items upon receipt, while in storage, and when prepared for shipment (e.g., returns).
Perform full range of warehouse-type duties.
Incidental to other duties, incumbent operates electric, gas, or diesel-powered forklifts to move loads under 10,000 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Examiner and Identifier without more than normal supervision.
I have the ability to perform common duties which include classifying warehouse materials; examining materials for defects; and storing warehouse materials.
I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc.
Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Incumbent regularly performs moderate to heavy lifting 45 pounds or more when moving items by hand or with dolly.
Incumbent typically works on hard surfaces.
Constant walking and standing on hard surfaces for prolonged periods is required.
The work requires bending, stooping, and pushing/pulling heavy items along conveyor lines (e.g., to manually push pallets onto dollies).
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed indoors and out.
Inside typical receiving and storage areas, fans and heaters moderate (but do not eliminate) seasonal extremes of temperature.
In some instances, there maybe no moderation at all.
Incumbent may also work on adjacent lots where seasonal extremes are not moderated, or are even exaggerated (i.e., inside vans).
Risk of shifting and/or falling loads is present (i.e., when material is being pulled from or placed into pallet racks).
Other hazards include working around MHE and other moving vehicles.
Incumbent is regularly exposed to nose, dirt, fumes, and vibrations.
Incumbent is subject to abrasions, cuts, and punctures from banding, staples, splintered pallet and crates, etc.
Safety shoes are always required.
Ear plugs and/or gloves will be worn depending on the task at hand.
Some material which incumbent processes are hazardous and may require additional PPE.
Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct deposit of pay is required.
