Responsibilities
: Perform destructive and non-destructive testing of materials and components for material handling equipment.
Identify and apply standard laboratory concepts, methods, and procedures.
Assist with design and application of special equipment, software, and test procedures in support of new product development, manufacturing, and product lifecycle management.
Prepare test specimens and perform assigned testing.
Maintain test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order.
Compile data and write formal reports documenting test results.
Test Engineering Assignments - Using well-developed work instructions and checklists, perform or assist with metallurgical/material sample preparation.
Conduct standardized test procedures including hardness testing, chemical composition testing, salt spray testing, Charpy impact testing, and microscopic or X-ray imaging.
Gather and report data to lab engineer.
Assist in development of test plans, procedures, and formal engineering reports.
Laboratory Operations - Assist in maintaining the operational and material readiness and availability of the lab and equipment.
Support lab equipment calibration and maintenance activities.
Maintain the laboratory’s consumable item inventory.
Assist in preparing the lab’s annual budget by researching requirements, soliciting quotes from vendors, and providing input to department managers.
Miscellaneous - Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years of materials testing experience
Good verbal and written communication, organizational, applied mathematics, analytical, troubleshooting, and computer skills
Ability to infrequently lift up to 30 lbs
Ability to safely operate a lift truck
Ability to travel occasionally with overnight stays (0-5%)
Reliable transportation to travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related
5 years of materials testing experience
Work Authorization:
Indefinite U.S. work authorized individuals only.
Individuals with temporary visas are ineligible.
Sponsorship for work authorization, now or in the future, is unavailable.
