Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer – Material Handling & Chute Fabrication
Location: Mason, OH (Hybrid)
Duration :2 Months +
we need engineers with Material Handling industry experience and proficiency in Solid Works for Sheetmetal designs.
Mechanical Engineering resources to design Parcel Chutes and conveyor
Position Summary:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the design and development
of custom material handling equipment, with a focus on chute designs.
You will be
responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs, MFG layouts, , and managing the full
lifecycle of design of chutes using SolidWorks.
This role demands a deep understanding of
conveyor systems, manufacturability, and field implementation.
This position will report to
the Sr Mech Eng Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop chute systems and support structures for conveyor-based
material handling solutions in a timely manner.
• Create and verify mechanical layouts, detail drawings, schematics, and BOMs using
SolidWorks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including PMs, EEs, MEs, and installation
crews to ensure project milestones are met
• Maintain project documentation, effective communication and manage design of
chutes
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in material handling or
industrial automation.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, drafting, and structural analysis.
• Experience with steel fabrication, chute design, and conveyor systems (MDR,
belted, gravity).
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Edge, and other CAD tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
