Job Description Job Description Overview Our client, a US Fortune 250 company and a global medical technology corporation serving customers in Clinical Labs, Health care research & Pharmaceutical industry, seeks an accomplished Mechanical Engineer (Temp-to-Perm) Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Temp-to-Perm) Location: Branchburg Park, NJ 08876 Duration: 12-month contract with possible extension Pay Rate: $27/hr Must-Have Requirements: Experience with Instron and Zwick testing systems Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills Familiarity with Excel, JMP, MiniTab, or similar tools Job Description: The Mechanical Engineer will support daily laboratory operations and mechanical testing activities.
This role involves conducting product and material testing, performing data analysis, maintaining lab organization, and ensuring adherence to Quality Systems and Standard Operating Procedures.
The candidate will collaborate closely with management and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate project execution.
Responsibilities: Perform timely sample intake, including receipt, identification, storage, and return shipments.
Conduct testing using appropriate test methods, protocols, specifications, and equipment (including Instron and Zwick systems).
Perform data analysis using Excel, JMP, MiniTab, or similar tools, and prepare draft reports.
Communicate challenges, scheduling conflicts, or testing issues to management promptly.
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, PPE, and chemicals required for testing and cleaning.
Manage routine sample disposition, including hazardous waste disposal.
Ensure laboratory and storage areas are maintained in a clean, organized condition.
Adhere to Quality Systems and escalate potential Quality Events (e.g., OOS, deviations, CAPAs).
Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recommend improvements as needed.
Review and draft laboratory documents (SOPs, LWIs) under management supervision.
Collaborate with colleagues and communicate with clients under guidance from lab management.
Support project management responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical, Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred.
Additional Qualifications: Experience with Instron and Zwick testing systems strongly preferred.
Familiarity with MiniTab and SolidWorks a plus.
Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a laboratory or testing environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
