**Overview**

The Media Director (Planning & Strategy) serves as a senior media expert, providing departmental and capability leadership, while increasing visibility of the media practice and leading a key client account.

This person manages a team of media planning professionals and is responsible for ensuring media strategies and deliverables meet or exceed the strategic requirements of the client, contribute, and meet Razorfish’s quality standards.

They also manage, motivate, and mentor media staff in the development and execution of media initiatives and drive new business efforts.

**Responsibilities**

+ Develops forward-thinking, innovative, cross-channel local media strategies to improve the effectiveness of client marketing programs and grow business.
+ Lead the team and day-to-day client interaction and build, maintain, and grow client relationships and client business
+ Advises clients and internal teams on media opportunities.
+ Serves as the client lead on a large Enterprise media account.
+ Manages multiple lines of business within a client account.
+ Conceives, negotiates, and presents cross platform, large-scale media proposals to client.
+ Responsible for cross selling and upselling services.
+ Key participant in business development for media pitches.
+ Leads and supervises team including hiring, training, staffing, coaching, and evaluating performance.
+ Attends and represents client at industry events.
+ Helps with POV writing, responsible for client-specific POVs.

**Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s degree from a four-year, accredited college or university.
+ 8-10+ years of experience in crafting and accomplishing in digital media planning and purchasing strategies within the advertising sector; agency experience is desirable.
+ 4+ years of prior staff management, development, and mentoring experience.
+ Proficiency in applicable media tools and platforms such as MediaTools/Guidlines, Pathmatics, Comscore, MRI, Vivix/Kartar etc.
+ Ability to strategically plan campaigns from audience determination, ability to best flight and implement campaigns to align with client's strategic goals and targets
+ Strong understanding of analytics to inform and validate planning and strategy
+ History of identifying media opportunities, presenting them to clients, and delivering
+ Experience monitoring and recommending improvements to the entire media planning process
+ Ensuring people are adopting the best in class tools, techniques, systems to deliver effective media processes
+ Portfolio management of paid media for a large brand
+ Excellent communication (written and verbal along with visual storytelling), diplomacy, and relationship building and decision making skills with the ability to think creatively.

Compensation Range: $119,950 - $179,850.

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.

Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.

Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met.

Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.

For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
