The MEP superintendent role is focused on providing technical solutions, leadership and management for the delivery and implementation of facility management processes and solutions on mission-critical projects such as govt.
facilities, or hospitals to drive and support the start-up and commissioning process.
Projects are located in San Diego County.
This is a permanent role.
+ 8–10 years of experience in commercial construction with an MEPF/building controls contractor, general contractor, or commissioning agency
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Facilities Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or MEP Construction
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Detail-oriented with the ability to communicate complex issues effectively to clients
+ Valid driver’s license
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a mobile, high-performance team environment
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, Word, SharePoint) and Adobe Cloud
+ Familiarity with P6 and/or MS Project
+ Strong project management and troubleshooting skills
+ Ability to read and interpret financial data related to facilities
+ Deep understanding of critical facility environments (e.g., hospitals, airports, data centers)
+ Solid knowledge of facilities operations and building systems
+ Manage and coordinate MEPF trade partners through planning, inspections, and commissioning testing
+ Utilize standard MEPF/building controls testing procedures and tools
+ Lead teams to deliver Operational Project Readiness (OPR) and Commissioning Management (CxM) services
+ Review design drawings, submittals, shop drawings, and specifications for constructability and operability
+ Develop project-specific commissioning and execution plans using Hensel Phelps templates
+ Maintain commissioning schedules aligned with CPM milestones and contract requirements
+ Define testing/certification requirements for equipment and manage documentation via Cx software
+ Review Level 2 and 3 commissioning scripts
+ Implement visual tracking/status tools for commissioning progress
+ Lead project commissioning meetings and communicate schedules, constraints, and issues
+ Document MEPF equipment inspections and testing; drive issue resolution
+ Oversee document control and progress tracking through commissioning software
+ Coordinate and manage Level 4/5 commissioning testing
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
Eligible for bonuses depending on project performance and yearly results.
