 In this role, you will act as a top-level specialist on merchandising and provide expertise on the target demographic, product categories, promotions, and competitive landscape.

You will advise the merchandising team on product displays and visual elements to potentially aid in customer retention.

Additionally, you will lead the Hispanic Strategy team, ensuring localization and cultural relevance in all merchandising efforts.

The Merchandising Execution Manager is responsible for optimizing product merchandising outside of planogram space on the sales floor to maximize space utilization and drive sales.

This role involves developing and implementing off-shelf merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and encourage impulse purchases, thereby increasing basket size.

The Merchandising Execution Manager collaborates closely with the merchandising team, category managers, and field team to ensure effective and visually appealing product displays that align with company guidelines.

You will also measure on-shelf programs and influence teams such as layout, visual merchandising, operations, and category management to allocate space dedicated to serving the Hispanic customer across the entire chain.
 

To be best suited for this role, you will need to apply your advanced knowledge of pricing and promotion strategies to develop sales events, promotions, discounts, and special offers according to consumer demand.

You will coach merchandising teams to ensure that product displays and visual elements highlight merchandise appropriately.

As the Merchandising Execution Manager, you will consult with supply chain teams to minimize overstock situations, optimize inventory replenishment, and avoid stockouts.

This colleague will also coordinate on the assortment planning strategy to determine the right mix of products, brands, styles, and price points to drive sales.

You will create key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product performance and enable data-driven decisions to optimize profitability and sales.

In this role, you will both design and develop an industry-leading pricing strategy that balances consumer demands and profitability with market competitiveness.

You will turn those insights into action by developing actionable insights from customer loyalty programs, website analytics, and customer surveys to inform the merchandising strategy.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning – 30%
 

  • Establishing a clear, prioritized activity roadmap that successfully delivers the company’s ambitions, including changes in products, policies and/or processes across our ecosystem with appropriate collaboration across multiple stakeholders
  • Proficiency in working with data to develop measures and metrics that yield actionable insights to business owners, and lead / conduct / support first-level analyses to identify underlying drivers of new trends
  • Ability to drive efficient and effective planning processes by implementing and upholding a strong project management discipline across boundaries
  • Ability to influence at all levels – up to and including cross-functional SVPs. Excellent written and oral communication skills-strong presentation skills required
  • Assigns appropriate timelines and accountabilities for items, empowering the team to drive action steps to completion
  • Leverages thought partners (Senior leaders, corporate partners, peers, team, etc.) as needed to create and revisit the strategy
  • Navigates ambiguity and change to achieve goals despite potential obstacles
  • Creates strategizes that continuously improve our programs and/or processes that drive service and productivity improvement
  • Aligns the team to establish, update and maintain a clear set of actions including interdependencies needed to achieve overall goals 
  • Follows up on strategic initiatives and KPI performance
  • Champions innovation by bringing ideas to own VP & SVP as well as the broader Merchandising Leadership Team in an agile way, while balancing growth against financial risk and incremental cost to the organization
     
  • Evolution and Maintenance of Processes/Procedures – 25%
     

  • Pricing and Promotion Strategies: Apply advanced knowledge of pricing and promotion strategies to develop sales events, promotions, discounts, and special offers according to consumer demand
  • Product Displays and Visual Elements: Coach merchandising teams to ensure that product displays and visual elements highlight merchandise appropriately
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Consult with supply chain teams to minimize overstock situations, optimize inventory replenishment, and avoid stockouts
  • Assortment Planning: Coordinate on the assortment planning strategy to determine the right mix of products, brands, styles, and price points to drive sales
  • Stakeholder Influence and Change Management – 30%
     

  • Leverages data, insights, and analytics to influence stakeholders and makes recommendations as appropriate

  • Measures retention and key performance indicator results on an ongoing basis and provides recurring readout to senior leadership in partnership with cross functional business leads
  • Leverages a results-oriented mindset, using metrics to monitor improvements
     
  • Develop and manage a standardized set of views that are used to internally monitor macro-level trends and key drivers of each
     

    Culture Talent Development – 15%
     

  • Leadership: Providing guidance, direction, and support to teams and departments to ensure smooth operations and optimal performance
  • Responsible for leadership development, succession planning, and driving engagement programs for the teams you oversee.

    Ensure development and mentorship of next generation of leadership talent
  • Creating a culture centered on inclusion and well-being will be a key responsibility in this role

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is:

    $60,300.00 - $145,860.00

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.

    The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.

    This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
