**Pay Range:** $45.59 - $74.19 per hour

**Summary:**
The Manager of Capacity Management is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the capacity of healthcare services, ensuring that resources are appropriately aligned with demand across Rush Medical Group (RMG).
This role involves managing the delivery of healthcare services within capacity constraints, ensuring quality, efficiency, and accessibility for all patients.
The Capacity Manager also works closely with the D&IS team to ensure that technology systems, platforms, and infrastructure support operational goals and the capacity management process effectively.
The Manager holds Epic Certification in Cadence and serves as the subject matter expert on practice and departmental front-end process, physician relations and system builds that impact patient access across the medical group and related hospital outpatient departments.
Under the direction of the Vice President of Access Operations, the Manager of Capacity Management is responsible to implement and manage programs and processes necessary to achieve the corporate access metrics.
This role requires excellent teambuilding skills to successfully engage and collaborate with practice and departmental leaders and physicians across the organization.

• Epic cadence Certification
• 5 years demonstrated success/results in healthcare patient access, capacity management, and/or management/operations with D&IS systems integration.
• Broad knowledge of healthcare trends, delivery models, patient access workflows and operations optimization techniques applicable to academic medical centers.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare IT systems, such as EHRs, scheduling tools, and other patient access technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply data to make informed decisions.
• Ability to build successful teams utilizing strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.
**Preferred Job Qualifications:**
• Master’s Degree preferred or equivalent in experience
• CACM Certification
• Experience with healthcare systems (i.e. Epic, Cerner or other HER platforms) and other healthcare-specific technologies
• Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Power BI or similar platforms

**Responsibilities:**
• Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of capacity management processes for healthcare access services, ensuring the availability of sufficient resources to meet patient demand.
• Forecast and analyze healthcare access service demand, ensuring the organization can respond proactively to patient needs while balancing operational efficiencies.
• Develop strategies to improve the accessibility of healthcare services, identifying opportunities to streamline operations and reduce wait times.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, department heads, and external partners, to ensure a seamless capacity management approach that meets patient expectations.
• Accountable for the testing, design, programming, timely implementation of provider and department templates, decision trees, and other scheduling strategies utilizing approved development methodologies.
• Identifies and implements continuous improvements in the areas of development, build, debugging, testing, data services, process and application help and training that significantly impacts access with clearly measurable outcomes.
• Monitor performance against agreed capacity thresholds and KPIs, taking corrective actions as necessary to ensure service delivery goals are met and reports out on a regular basis to various stakeholders.
• Leads a team of Capacity Specialists to assist in completing template requests and mentoring to obtain the essentials of Epic Cadence as well as promoting strong employee engagement initiatives.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving capacity-related issues within healthcare D&IS systems, working closely with the D&IS team to address any technical barriers to capacity management.
• Utilize data analytics tools to gather insights and provide actionable reports on healthcare access and capacity utilization, helping drive strategic decision-making.
• Ensure continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies within current processes and implementing solutions to mitigate them.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical, operational, and D&IS stakeholders to align the organization’s capacity strategy with broader goals.
• Accountable for achieving the access metrics defined by senior leadership.
• Has a primary focus on growing new patient volumes for key services while and improving schedule utilization for all practices.
• Acts as an Epic Cadence expert to ensure templates are built according to specifications and ensures that all modifiers and template build are accurate.
• Designs and manages convenient and barrier free processes/workflows for scheduling and facilitates meetings with practice Leadership to address scheduling concerns and offer build recommendations to enhance scheduling.
• Participates in large access initiatives at both the department and physician level to assure capacity barriers are removed.
• Maintains leading edge knowledge of emerging best practices and makes recommendations for their deployment.
Assumes an oversight role for the implementation.
• Complies with all Rush policies and procedures; undertakes additional assignments; and flexibly manages all activities to meet expected timeframes.
