Job description

JT4 is hiring a Radio Field Technician (Radio/Networking/Television/LMR/Air Traffic Control/Weather/NAVAIDS) for their Las Vegas, NV location.

JOB SUMMARY -- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES


Manages all installation, maintenance, and equipment upgrades required to support Radio,Television, NAVAIDS and Weather systems at all operation locations.

Duties include, but are not limited to the design, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and certification of the following systems:

  • UHF/VHF/HF ground-to-air radio communications equipment.

  • Wide-area server based remote radio control systems.

  • Air Traffic Control operation centers and switching equipment.

  • P25 Land Mobile Radio networks, radio frequency (RF) repeaters and portable 'mobile radios.

  • Server-based Digital Voice recording systems and associated equipment.

  • Digital cable television headend systems, encoders, fiber transmitters and satellite downlink systems.

  • Cable distribution systems to include fiber optic, RF coaxial and CAT5e/6;6e.

  • UHF/VHF/HF antenna and grounding/bonding systems.
  • REQUIERMENTS -- EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE


    An associate's degree in engineering or other technical discipline, or formal academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of 4-5 years of technical/professional experience in the specialty field are required for this position.


    In addition, a Field Technician II must possess the following qualifications:

  • Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles and familiarity with related engineering fields.

  • Practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform routine to more complex engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions.

  • Capability in utilizing basic testing equipment.

  • Understanding of general electronics, electro-mechanical, and computer systems.

  • Understanding basic networking technology and telecommunications technologies.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in planning and organization,

  • Requires exceptional technical skills.

  • Must have a willingness to perform field maintenance duties.

  • Must be willing to be certified in tower climbing and rescue skills.

  • Must be a US citizen.

  • Must qualify for and maintain a Security Clearance and possess a current state issued driver's license.
  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) transmission principals.

  • Knowledge in CISCO communications equipment.

  • ISCET certification.
