Mobile System Hardware Architect Job Opening In Austin – Now Hiring Advanced Micro Devices, Inc

The Role: The Mobile System Hardware Architecture team is part of the Client Business Unit and we drive the architecture and technical leadership of mobile platforms within the semiconductor space.

The Person: In this role, you will serve as the primary technical liaison for platform-level hardware programs.

You will also collaborate closely with domain specialists and technical leads to drive system-level solutions.

Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary technical liaison for platform-level hardware in the program.

Ensure product features—such as performance and power management—meet marketing and silicon requirements from pin-level to full SOC integration.

Understand the SOC as a holistic system, encompassing hardware, firmware, BIOS, and software components.

Align system architecture to enable SOC and commercial platform features.

Contribute to platform architecture and system feature development with a deep understanding of use cases.

Manage requirement changes collaboratively between business units and design teams to deliver agreed solutions.

Ensure technical accuracy in product disclosures and assess the impact of bugs on features and performance goals.

Collaborate closely with domain specialists and technical leads to drive system-level solutions.

Lead and inspire cross-domain teams to architect innovative system features Preferred Experience: 6+ years of experience in PC, tablet, or mobile phone hardware architecture.

Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics, board files, and hardware layouts.

Experience with Cadence tools for board layout analysis.

Ability to read and understand C language code related to firmware and hardware integration.

Strong familiarity with system board design and associated documentation.

Strong knowledge of PC platform architecture and industry-standard interface specifications focused on power management.

Understanding silicon process technologies and tools for projecting SOC power and performance.

Hands-on experience with both silicon and system board design.

Familiarity with PC software and hardware ecosystems Academic credentials: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
