Job Description

HII Mission Technologies Division is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Network Engineer to work on a team executing integration efforts on the Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis, AFB, NV.

This position is part of a team that provides on-site M&S support to establish and deliver high-end Advanced Tactics, Training, and Test capability for Government personnel operating under USAFWC/ACC; Provide mission execution and support to broad range of JITTC-N simulator activities and Joint Simulation Environment (JSE).

Essential Job Responsibilities

The Modeling and Simulation Network Engineer will be part of a larger team that addresses overarching systems administration, networking, Information Technology support for a robust integration effort supporting the integration of multiple complex JSE based JITTC-N simulators and advanced JSE Battlespace enclaves with various security levels up to TS and beyond.

Responibilities will include, but are not limited to:

+ Designing and planning network systems.

+ Providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.

+ Providing specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.

+ Conducting testing of network systems.

+ Maintaining technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.

+ Evaluating and reporting on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.



Minimum Qualifications


+ 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

+ Must have a current Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification - https://public.cyber.mil/wid/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/

+ Must have had an active Top Secret clearance within the last 24 months.

+ Ability to obtain and maintain DoD TS/SCI and relevant SAP/SAR Clearance.

+ Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule to support customer requirements.

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen.



Preferred Requirements


+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or in a related field.

+ Previous DoD simulation Networking experience.

+ RMF knowledge of DISA process.

+ Previous experience with JSE and/or Modeling and Simulation network systems.

+ Strong Network Engineering background.

+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft domain controllers, Virtual Machines (VM), VMWARE, ACAS scanning, STIG compliance and layer 2 and 3 network devices (switches and routers).



Physical Requirements


+ May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment.

Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
