If so, we have a great opportunity to join our News Production/Master Control department in the well-established, well-respected company, KXLY TV, the ABC affiliate in the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene market! Being a News Production/Master Control Operator means you will be a part of a team that works together to put local daily newscasts and entertainment programming on the air.

This vital behind-the-scenes position plays a key role as we strive to tell the stories that connect our audience to our communities.

What you’ll do

  • Each day in the life of a News Production/Master Control Operator is different as you troubleshoot, problem solve and collaborate with other departments to achieve the common goal of executing daily newscasts seamlessly.
  • Maintain quality and discipline during show productions; attention to detail is key.
  • Assist in running on-air programming, directing newscasts, operating cameras, and handling master control duties as needed.

What you’ll bring

  • Full-time, creative and engaged individual with a passion for broadcasting to be part of the News Production/Master Control team.
  • Willingness to train and work closely with experienced staff with a unique opportunity to do production, master control, newscast directing, and graphics (working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is important).
  • Experience in television production is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person who has savvy computer skills, effective communication, and can remain calm and diplomatic under stressful situations with shifting priorities.

Pay range: $16.75/hour - $20.00/hour

Benefits: We offer employees and their families medical, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance, and Employee Assistance Program benefits.

Employees are also offered long-term disability insurance, flexible spending account, 401(k), health savings account, employee referral program, and paid time off including 80 hours of vacation following 1 year of service, 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked, 2 personal days and 9 paid holidays.
