MSIC - HPC Linux Systems Administrator Job Opening In Huntsville – Now Hiring COLSA Corporation


Job description

Join our team as a Linux Systems Administrator, where you will support and manage a diverse mix of workstations, servers, and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters.

We are looking for a skilled professional with a solid foundation in Linux administration and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.


+ Securely deploy and manage Linux workstations, servers, and HPC clusters.

+ Administer local and remote filesystems efficiently.

+ Automate tasks using shell scripting and Python.

+ Manage security features, including firewalls and SELinux.

+ Work with Ansible for system configuration and automation.

+ Deploy and manage containerized environments using Docker or Podman.

+ Maintain and optimize HPC clusters with tools such as Bright, Slurm, and xCAT.

+ Configure and manage Linux networking and associated services.

+ Ensure adherence to industry best practices, company and agency policies, and regulatory requirements.

+ Create and maintain thorough documentation of plans, system configurations, and operational processes and procedures.

Required SkillsRequired Experience Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent professional experience.

+ Minimum of 5 to 12 years of related experience

+ Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

+ Must be able to pass the CI polygraph within 180 days of hire

+ CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP, or equivalent baseline security certification.

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility and maintain program accesses as required

+ Strong experience with Linux system administration.

+ Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.

+ Knowledge of security best practices for Linux environments.

+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

+ U.S. Citizenship Required

Preferred Qualifications

+ RHCSA, Linux+, or equivalent certification.

+ Experience with automation tools (Ansible, shell scripting, Python, etc.).

+ Familiarity with container technologies like Docker, Podman, and Apptainer.

+ Experience managing HPC clusters using Bright, Slurm, and/or xCAT.

+ Strong networking experience in Linux environments.

+ Cross-OS administration experience with Windows.

+ Virtualization experience with VMWare or Nutanix.

+ Active TS//SCI clearance with a current CI Scope Polygraph.
