Job description

Position Summary:

The Multi-Modality Radiology Technologist delivers high quality MRI, CT, and X-Ray exams to assist in diagnosis or treatment.

Independently Performs MRI, CT, and X-Ray procedures, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

  • Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent, and documented competencies in Radiology, CT and MRI
  • Montana Licensure (Radiologic Technologist)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) advanced certification in both CT & MRI
  • American Heart Association BLS within 90 days of hire
  • Two (2) years of previous radiology experience
  • Two (2) years of previous CT and/or MRI experience
  • Preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in health care related studies
  • Essential Job Functions:

    In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

  • Performs quality MRI, CT, and X-Ray/fluoroscopic exams and procedures for all patient populations, to include NICU, CCU & ED as requested by medical staff.
  • Operates independently, with limited to no supervision, while maintaining high attention to detail, customer needs, and high reliability.
  • Assists medical staff in other departments during exams and procedures as may be requested and appropriate.
  • Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.
  • Completes documentation, in designated area, of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
  • Retrieves written orders and related health information to insure the timely performance and reporting of exams and procedures.
  • Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the hospital quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.

  • Physical Requirements

  • Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Support 50 pounds of weight (patient, assist with bedside needs, etc.) Lift 50 pounds (pick up a child, transfer a patient, etc.) Carry equipment/supplies.

    Use upper body strength (CPR, physically restrain patient, etc.)
  • Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.
  • Flexible Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
  • On-Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond to organizational and patient needs promptly.
  • Effective Communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.
  • Handling Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients or families.
  • Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
