Overview

Fernway is looking for a Multimedia Designer to join our growing Marketing team.

This role is at the intersection of design and content creation, covering everything from packaging and retail collateral to social media graphics, merchandise, photography, and video editing.

This is a hybrid role (Tuesday - Thursday in our NYC office).

Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

The ideal candidate is a versatile creative who thrives in a fast-paced environment, balances artistic detail with commercial intent, and can bring Fernway’s brand to life across every touchpoint.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce sales collateral such as sell sheets, retail one-pagers, trade show assets, and custom retail display signage.
  • Develop packaging concepts and adapt existing dielines for new SKUs, ensuring compliance with cannabis regulations and print production standards.
  • Prepare final artwork files for print, including color separations, proofing, and vendor coordination.
  • Collaborate with product and compliance teams to balance brand creativity with regulatory requirements.

Merchandise & Brand Extensions

  • Concept and design branded merchandise including apparel, accessories, and promotional products that reinforce Fernway’s identity.

Digital & Social Media Design

  • Create visual assets for digital campaigns, email marketing, and SMS promotions.
  • Design and adapt content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.), ensuring correct sizing, readability, and brand consistency.
  • Produce quick-turn graphics for event announcements, product drops, or cultural moments.
  • Build reusable templates and style guides for consistent execution across digital touchpoints.

Photo & Video Production

  • Edit and color-correct photo and video assets to produce polished final content.
  • Capture both studio and lifestyle product photography, understanding composition, lighting, and angles that showcase products effectively.
  • Shoot & edit short-form video content for social channels and event recaps, with an eye for storytelling and brand tone.

Brand Stewardship & Collaboration

  • Translate brand identity into compelling visual design across all touchpoints, ensuring consistency in color, typography, and imagery.
  • Collaborate with marketing leads to interpret campaign messaging into design concepts that drive consumer engagement.
  • Stay current with design trends and appropriately utilize AI.

Project & Workflow Management

  • Manage multiple design requests simultaneously, prioritizing deadlines and aligning with marketing calendars.
  • Maintain and organize Fernway’s digital asset library for easy internal use.
  • Communicate timelines and progress clearly to marketing stakeholders.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 3+ years of professional design experience (agency or in-house).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects).
  • Experience with packaging design and preparing files for print.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across digital, print, and content creation.
  • Photography and video skills, including editing and post-production.
  • Understanding of design as a tool for communication and commerce, not just art.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Highly approachable & friendly personality.
  • A high degree of integrity and ethical conduct at all times.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Must pass all pre-screenings in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws.
  • Experience in CapCut, Canva and Wordpress.
  • Experience with creative project management tools (Clickup, Asana, Monday, Notion) a plus
