Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced
Munitions Test Engineer to join a highly specialized defense testing team in
Niceville, Florida.
This role involves supporting developmental and operational testing for advanced munitions, including air-to-air, air-to-ground, and direct fire systems.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in test planning, execution, modeling & simulation, and data analysis, along with prior experience working in classified environments.
You will serve as a
subject matter expert, leading efforts in test development, system integration, instrumentation requirements, and coordination with government and contractor teams.
This position requires an
active Top Secret/SCI clearance and eligibility for Special Access Programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and manage test documentation (test plans, flight cards, data plans, and analysis reports).
- Forecast and track test resources, including assets, instrumentation, and range requirements.
- Act as Test Director or Test Conductor during mission execution.
- Brief and debrief test aircrew on mission objectives.
- Coordinate with program offices, contractors, and test support agencies.
- Identify, track, and resolve test-related issues while mentoring junior team members.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship (due to security clearance requirements).
- Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Special Access Program eligibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related technical discipline, plus 12+ years of experience, OR a Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience.
- Minimum of 6 years Test & Evaluation (T&E) experience.
- At least 5 years of related analysis experience, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience creating AFSIM scenarios and models.
- Hands-on experience in developmental testing of aircraft and weapons in secure environments.
- Familiarity with instrumentation, range operations, safety constraints, and flight test processes.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or physics from an ABET-accredited program.
- Graduate of a Test Pilot School.
- Knowledge of modern military systems (U.S. and foreign).
- Experience with tools such as AFSIM, STK, JMP, Python, C++, or R.
- Previous exposure to military test ranges such as Nellis AFB, Edwards AFB, China Lake NAS, White Sands Missile Range, or similar.
