Our group, the Joint Defense Support Group within SPA’s Sea Land Air (SLA) Division, supports the Surface Community and components of the United States Navy by providing program management, requirements management, force development, and readiness support in Washington DC and the Fleet concentration areas.

We provide timely, objective, analytic assessments, strategic planning, and expert operational, technical, and acquisition support to the Maritime communities, and related agencies, allies, and partners.

We are trusted agents of the senior and operational leadership in the Fleet, OPNAV, NAVSEA, and the Royal Canadian and Royal Australian Navies.

We play key roles in providing insights and strategies to address current and emerging challenges to national security and have tremendous impact on our client’s success in solving their most important issues..

This support under the Navy Human Resources Portfolio includes personnel, manpower, and training support to OPNAV N1 including Navy Recruiting Command, Millington, TN.

SPA has an immediate need for a Navy Recruiting Command Operations Research Analyst in Millington, TN.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support Navy Recruiting Command's N5 in applying operations research, numerical, and statistical analysis techniques (including coding) to support recruiting programs and initiatives; Analyze recruiting data and report mission performance trends to command leadership; Perform mathematical modeling, specifically with regression and classification methods, to include CART, in order to build predictive models; Understand, create and execute critical path analysis, plans of action and milestones (POAMs), deliverable time-lines, user reports, dashboards, and communications plans from applicable Navy Recruiting Command tools and data.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, business, law, engineering, social sciences, physical/applied science, or management discipline such as business administration, accounting, finance, economics or management information technology
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience in data or statistical analysis, or business process improvement
  • Extensive experience with coding languages (SQL, Python, R, Excel) to create models and data analytic tools
  • Secret clearance
  • Ability to work independently on projects
  • Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience with product development for executive level leadership
  • Knowledge of the Navy Recruiting process
  • Cost estimation experience
