POSITION SUMMARY: This position is an individual contributor responsible for monitoring and maintaining the corporate WAN and LAN, including maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices and implementing upgrades or system designs.

Provides application support for several networks (Avaya PBX, EMC and Symitar) as well as support to users and remote locations by resolving problems with network related issues.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: - Works on deploying, upgrading, securing and making changes to Cisco routers and switches at branches and remote sites.

- Troubleshoots network related issues like connectivity, bandwidth and quality of service problems.

This includes working and opening trouble tickets with the telephone company.

- Monitors network connectivity to branches, ATMs and hosted clients.

- Supports users and takes help desk calls on network-related issues.

- Establishes router connectivity with VPN and MPLS.

- Provides support for Avaya PBX and related applications.

- Provides support on EMC systems.

- Configures consoles, printers and symconnect ports on Symitar systems.

- Sets up and supports users, vendors and clients needing access to the network.

- Documents day to day changes that are made to the network.

- Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

CCNA preferred Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) preferred

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience is required.

- Ideal candidate has four years experience in networking, specifically upgrading, configuring, securing and deploying Cisco routers and switches.

- Must demonstrate a good working knowledge of moderately complex systems, including experience with EIGRP, CSS, Pix firewalls, VPN, IDS, IPS, Protego, TACACS.

- Should have experience with different technologies such as Avaya PBX, ECM, and Symitar systems.

- Should demonstrate the ability to work on projects and meet deadlines, take direction and be a team player.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to effectively work on multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and produce high quality work.

Must possess good decision-making and analytical skills, and an ability to exercise good judgment.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project).

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $59.00/hr.
