Job description

This requisition seeks to obtain professional support services that support the ISCOM Customer in the sustainment of intelligence collection and dissemination assets vital to the security of the United States.

The services and capabilities will provide responsive, flexible, adaptive, and timely solutions to satisfy current and future IT requirements.

INSCOM provides the Army with a single command to conduct multi-discipline intelligence and security operations.

As part of its activities, INSCOM requires support for continued operations and future development of the automated systems necessary to support the INSCOM Black Core (IBC) and Trojan Data networks (TDN).

Provide Tier II customer service support to US ARMY INSCOM customers.

Responsible for providing software support to CISCO routers and switches, PCs, Servers, Juniper routers, In-Line Encryption (INE) devices, network security appliances and other related network hardware.

• Manages the gateway, routers and switches for the INSCOM Networks.

• Resolves network problems; operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators.

Monitors data or voice system networks for various messages, alarms, or issues.

• Activates scripts as alarms occur or issues surface.

• Confirms accuracy of messages, alarms or issues and/or determines severity of problem, issue or alarm.

Initiates resolution as appropriate.

• Troubleshoots problems using scripts and standard, routine procedures; escalates as appropriate.

• Utilize AN/PYQ-10 Simple Key Loader to provide service to Taclane Encryptors

• Provide administrative overview of Network monitoring Tools (Solarwinds, ISE, Netbrain)

• Operational knowledge of infrastructure design and cable management

• Researches issues to determine if problem may be resolved using predefined procedures.

• Executes scheduled maintenance routines in accordance with standard procedures.

• Identifies issues or problems and resolves as appropriate; escalates when necessary.

Performs Tier 1-4 problem determination.

• Interfaces with users and/or network vendors.

• Designs, engineers and implements associated projects

A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR; -- An associate's

degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; -- A major certification plus 7

years of recent specialized experience, OR; -- 11 years of recent specialized experience.

**Clearance Requirements:** TS/SCI

**Certification Requirements:**

IAT-3: CISA, or CISSP, or CASP, or GCIH, or GCED

OS Cert: CCNA, or CCNP

**Desired Skills:**

5 years of experience configuring, operating, and troubleshooting networks.

**Travel:**

Continental and Oversees travel may be required.

It is important to maintain a current

passport.

**Essential Functions**

Work Environment

Work will be performed inside a large facility.

An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).

Work assignments vary based on client requirements.

Work may include travel with the military to participate in exercises in austere conditions

Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold, icy and windy climates.

Physical Requirements

Sitting at desk.

Phone use and PC or laptop.

Filing required.

May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs.

Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.

Equipment and Machines

General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

May require operating motor vehicles.

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory.

It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.

You may be asked to continue performance in support of a war, contingency, or exercise

You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work

Position may require night and weekend work and could include travel with the military to participate in operations/exercises located in areas with field conditions

Travel

Continental and Oversees travel may be required.

It is important to maintain a current passport.

Other Essential Functions

Employment is contingent upon obtaining all required certifications within the timeframe specified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintaining required certifications through the duration of the contract.

Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.

Grooming and dress usually business casual, but dependent on client’s standards.

Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
