Network Engineer

Responsible for the implementation and maintenance, configuration and reliable operation of Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, Manage servers at the highest and most complex levels to ensure continuous availability and performance.

Keep abreast of new technologies and recommend adoption as appropriate.

Identify areas for automation or other process improvement participate in team on-call rotation and provide support during project and operations related cutovers.

Prepare and maintain up to date documentation details of the deployed solutions, plan and execute highly sophisticated network upgrades and migration activities.

Assists with deployment and strategy of tools and related Network Management Systems

Ensure on-premise network, cloud network (SD-WAN), and data centers are highly available with minimal latency or system/application interruption.

Validate project requirements, define project scope, develop project schedules and produce detailed designs for assigned project.

Support Technology projects to deliver superior solutions to technical and business stakeholders

Plan, design and coordinate the implementation of WAN or Internet related activities in support of defined requirements generated by business and growth demands.

Ensure proper configuration and build patterns are in place for TCP/IP networking as well as Cloud Load Balancers, Application gateway, Security Groups, VNETs/Subnets, VPN Gateways, Private links/endpoints, ExpressRoute, Route tables, Infoblox provided DNS, traffic manager and NAT configuration.

Expertise with CISCO Routers, Switches, WAN Protocols (EIGRP, BGP), QoS, LAN, and Data Center Protocols ( Fabric-enabled technologies), familiarity with authentication and authorization to include 802.1X, etc.

Layer 2 Switching technologies such as STP, RSTP, VTP, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, Inter-VLAN Routing, VSS, racking and stacking etc.

Strong knowledge of OSI and TCP/IP reference models, LAN/WAN, IPv4 addressing, network, VPN, and bandwidth efficiency, high availability, and redundancy.

Configure routing protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPSEC, NAT/PAT, VRF and MPLS L3 VPNs.

Expertise Troubleshooting of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP, IPsec and other IP conflict problems.

Efficient in NAT (Network address translation) configurations and troubleshooting issues related access lists (ACL).

Install Cisco IOS and CAT OS upgrades, procedures, and Pre/Post checks for network equipment upgrades.

Plans, coordinates, implements, and supports the LAN / WAN hardware, software, and Internet /Intranet integration network connectivity, diagnose network failures, and resolve any problems

Knowledge of TACACS, Cisco DNA, Cisco ISE, Cisco Prime, Cisco SD-WAN.

Responsible for the day-to-day management of Cisco devices, traffic management, and network monitoring.

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, and/or a minimum of 4+ years of network engineering experience in a network enterprise environment and job field certifications

Cisco Routers: ISR 4331, 8500, 2911, and ASR 1000 series routers.

Cisco Catalyst 9500, 

Cisco Switches: 9300, 9200, 8200,4500, 3850, 2960 series & Cisco Nexus 7k, 5k, and 2k switches.

Routing Protocols: BGP, OMP, EIGRP, RIP, MP-BGP, VRF, Redistribution, and Static Routing.

Switching Protocols: STP, RSTP, PVSTP, VTP, ARP, FHRP, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, VLAN, VXLAN, 

Various Features & Services: IP Subnetting, VLSM, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, NAT, ACL, VRF, VSS, OMP, VXLAN.

Technologies: MPLS, VPNs – IPsec, SD-WAN, MPLS L3 VPN.

Cisco ISE, Cisco DNAC, and Cisco ACI.

Networking Tools and OS: NetBrain, SecureCRT, Wireshark, MS Visio, Putty, GNS3, PRTG, Infoblox, and Cisco Collector.

Strong knowledge of Cisco ASA, FTD, Umbrella, and Proxy servers

Deployment and maintenance of Cisco Meraki wireless networks.

The ability to design and support WAN/LAN infrastructure supporting VoIP.

Broad general knowledge of desktop PC hardware, applications, and peripherals

Strong knowledge of the OSI and TCP/IP models.

Knowledge of security standards, procedures, and technologies.

Experience with VMWare and or Nutanix environment.

A minimum of four years of practical network engineering experience in a enterprise environment is required.
