Opportunity:


VSO is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level NOC Network Analyst to join our growing team in Lorton, Virginia.

This role is perfect for individuals eager to start their career in network operations, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to maintaining a secure and efficient network environment.

Responsibilities:

+ Monitor network systems to ensure consistent performance and uptime.

+ Assist with troubleshooting network issues related to routers, switches, and other network devices.

+ Work closely with senior team members to identify and resolve connectivity issues.

+ Collaborate with service providers and external vendors to address network outages and service interruptions.

+ Support network security efforts by following established policies and procedures.

+ Maintain and update network documentation, including diagrams and inventory records.

+ Generate basic reports on network status and performance metrics.

+ Learn and apply best practices for network operations and incident resolution.

Qualifications:

+ Associate degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent knowledge/experience).

+ Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VLANs.

+ Familiarity with network hardware such as routers and switches is a plus.

+ Interest in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar) is preferred.

+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

+ Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.

+ Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CCNA are a plus.

+ Some exposure to cloud networking concepts or Azure Networking is beneficial but not required.


Requirements


+ Must be within driving distance of Lorton, VA.

+ Must be willing to work onsite.

+ Must have an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance

+ Must be willing to work non-standard hours, including possible on-call responsibilities.

+ Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.).
