Our Noise & Vibration team contributes to hardware design, validation, and troubleshooting to minimize distracting audible noises and optimize their sound quality.
We are a diverse team of acoustics and vibration experts, accomplished listeners, and creative problem solvers.
We work daily with multifunctional teams on innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
We are looking for a Noise & Vibration Test Engineer to join our team.

**Description**
An N&V testing engineer on the Noise & Vibration team will test and analyze acoustic noise generating mechanisms and transmission path, to provide innovative and cost effective solutions to noise reduction.
A large part of this role involves working with cross-functional teams, designing test setups, collecting critical data for failure analyses, and providing insight of the results with expert knowledge.
You will also work closely with simulation engineers, providing expert analysis on simulation-test correlation and proposing improvements to modeling methodologies.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Strong background in structural dynamics, with 2+ years of experience in the noise/vibration field
+ A creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
+ Most of our engineers have advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field, but if you’ve followed a different path to expertise in mechanical design and engineering, we still want to hear from you.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience in dynamic testing methodology and setup
+ Experience in Matlab or other programming tools for analysis and post-processing
+ Experience in product noise & vibration root cause identification
+ Some experience in experimental modal analysis, transfer path analysis, and sub-structure synthesis
+ Useful but not required, LDV experience, history of high-volume consumer electronics, knowledge in electro-magnetics, multi-physics and structural simulation
**Pay & Benefits**
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
