Position Description
The seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty for full and part-time positions at the rank of lecturer.
The School of Journalism and Mass Communication offers majors in Advertising, Digital Media Innovation, Electronic Media, Journalism, Public Relations and Mass Communication.
We also offer a Master’s in Arts in Mass Communication.
Successful candidates will be able to teach courses in the program in their area of expertise.
Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester.
Teaching appointments are based on student demand on a semester-by-semester basis.
Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to funding availability and department need.
Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic unit.

Required Qualifications
Specific educational requirements vary by positions, but a minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required.
As an ACEJMC accredited program, professional media/communication experience is required. Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience is preferred.
