Through practical field experience and mentoring, successful candidates will gain significant professional confidence and people skills.

Work with the Engineering staff to complete tasks spanning all aspects of a commercial operating nuclear generating plant.

Tasks may include: Revising Calculations Developing and/or Enhancing Programs (lay out) Research Hydraulic and Fluid Flow Calculations Implementing New Programs Design Database development/maintenance.

We are looking for 3 interns in each location: Minneapolis, Monticello and Welch, MN.

This position is for a June 1, 2026 start date.

This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy’s business needs.

**Essential Responsibilities**

+ Revising Calculations
+ Developing and/or Enhancing Programs (lay out)
+ Research
+ Hydraulic and Fluid Flow Calculations
+ Implementing New Programs
+ Design
+ Database development/maintenance

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited engineering program, or be enrolled in a technical mathematics or science program
+ Must be a current freshman or higher
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to communicate effectively; both written and verbally Must be self- motivated and have the ability to work well with others Must be interested in a hands-on work approach
+ Must have a valid drivers license and personal vehicle

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $18.80 to $30.10 per hour
