The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology-Oncology is recruiting for four (4) full-time (100% FTE) Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.

This position will be under general supervision from a designated administrator, assist in providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients in the area of malignant hematology with a primary focus in bone marrow transplant.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of bone marrow transplant patients.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.

  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.

  • Maintain accurate medical records.


  • Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.

  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.

  • Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.

  • Participate in research and development projects.

  • Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students and medical students.

  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

  • Minimum Requirements


    Nurse Practitioner: 



    Required Education
    Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program.
    Required Trainings/Certifications
    Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.


    Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty.
    Required Experience
    Three (3) years nursing experience.

    Physician Assistant: 



    Required Education
    Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
    Required Trainings/Certification
    Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.


    Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

    Additional Qualifications Considered


    2-3 years of experience working and treating patients with Hematology-Oncology related health issues.
