PURPOSE
The Data Governance Director oversees the Data Governance Organization, driving the vision, priorities and plans of the data governance and master data management program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Document, maintain, and enforce BFS enterprise data standards Establish and operate a data governance framework that incorporates business and IT leadership and a larger data governance organization consisting of domain owners, stewards and custodians Lead the efforts to define data governance charters, policies, standards and practices to achieve the necessary level of consistency and quality to meet business needs Responsible for reporting of overall quality of data in source systems to domain owners and data quality exceptions to data stewards Facilitates Domain level meetings to ensure data quality exceptions and merge candidates and processed Onboard business functions into the Data Governance platform with the purpose of governing critical information assets while support future organization changes and requirements Drive initiatives within the Data Governance Organization to implement data ownership, responsibility and accountability Coordinate with Domain Owners and Data Stewards across the enterprise to address data quality issues and develop data governance goals, standards processes and technologies Support immediate data governance needs while expanding MDM and data governance coverage and capabilities over time Define Data Governance success measures and track and report results Proactively identify and address organizational change impacts Design, develop and implement metric reporting for key data management initiatives Support enterprise project pipeline to manage data impacts in alignment to data strategies and business needs Serve as the product owner for Data Governance and Master Data Management in an Agile environment.
Indirectly lead development efforts related to MDM.
Champion Data Governance within the organization by clearly articulating the data governance and master data management value proposition SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage Data Governance Analysts, including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, business or related field Minimum of 7 years of experience with large-scale data or ERP systems implementation and support Knowledge of data quality and governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of information assets Demonstrated consulting skills with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement design and reporting 3 – 5 years of software testing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience COMPETENCIES
Able to manage senior relationships across all Business and Functional areas Skilled in establishing and managing working relationships with all levels of the organization.
This includes the ability to address complaints, resolve conflicts and negotiate with others as needed to ensure organizational data quality goals are achieved.
Collaborative team player orientation towards work relationships, strong culture awareness Expertise in business processes Advanced facilitation skills with the ability to drive issues to closure Skilled in establishing priorities within projects and the overall departmental strategy Results oriented with the ability to drive operations to completion WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
