Location:
Occasional travel to the office located at the Lansing Training Center and Cadillac Place, Detroit, MI.

This position has the ability to work hybrid (remote/office).

Must be willing to intern 20-40 hours a week

Intern Responsibilities / Projects:
-Research and gather information from policy to correspond with lesson plans.
-Collaborate with the Content Writer regarding the development of the Pre-Service Institute Child Welfare curriculum for new hires.


-Provide technology assistance to the training personnel.
-Collaborate with curriculum development team regarding child welfare competency-based assessment tools, evaluation assessments, etc.
-Collaborate with the training personnel to develop potential in-service trainings on various specialized child welfare topics.
-Collaborate with external training personnel regarding unique statewide training needs to be developed for compliance through training materials for specialized topics (i.e., Children Trauma, Child Safety).


Responsibilities:
- Assisting with Hybrid technology, class monitoring and participant attendance to ensure accuracy of training products.


-Conduct research and provide training analysis in order to enhance child welfare topics.
- Evaluate efficiency of Child welfare training products by assisting management through instructional evaluations.


-Evaluate Child welfare training materials for efficiency.
-Participant in workgroups to determine best practice for child welfare training topics and/or deliver



Required Education and Experience

At the time of internship, must be currently enrolled pursuing your Bachelors degree or higher in one of the below areas of study:

Social Work, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Child Development, Human Resources

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
+ Must be actively enrolled in a college and university.


+ Must have achieved at least junior status and meet the qualifications of the learning institution, and preferentially, are enrolled in a graduate program.


+ The academic major must be consistent with the area of MDHHS- OWDT in which the student is seeking an internship (e.g., Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Human Resources)


+ Must provide a copy of respective academic institution’s Internship Agreement outlining internship objectives and academic instructor’s name and telephone learning institution, and preferentially, are enrolled in a graduate program.


+ Must have satisfactory criminal history and protective services background check.


+ Must possess a valid & unrestricted driver’s license.
