Job Title: Environmental O&M TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental O&M Technician to support field operations and remediation system maintenance across Florida.
This role involves both independent and team-based work, focusing on environmental sampling, system operations, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
+ Perform soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling in accordance with FDEP SOPs.
+ Conduct routine operations and maintenance of environmental remediation systems.
+ Assist with pilot testing, system installation oversight, and injection activities.
+ Oversee subcontractors during well drilling, abandonments, and excavations.
+ Maintain accurate field notes and system performance records.
+ Support site assessments and tank closure evaluations.
+ Communicate effectively with team members, regulators, and clients.
+ Contribute to technical reporting and documentation as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Environmental sampling of soil, groundwater, and surface water per FDEP SOPs.
+ Hands-on experience with operating and maintaining remediation systems such as pumps, filters, and injection systems.
+ Accurate record-keeping of field activities, system performance, and decisions.
+ Supervising drilling, well installation, and excavation activities.
+ Familiarity with UST closures, site assessments, and environmental compliance.
+ Clear and professional interaction with coworkers, clients, and regulators.
+ Physical capability to lift equipment and perform physically demanding fieldwork.
+ 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
+ Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Understanding of FAC Chapter 62-777 and 62-780.
+ Prior work with an FDEP-approved Agency Term Contractor.
+ Experience assisting with pilot tests for remediation systems.
+ Exposure to remediation system construction and installation.
+ Ability to contribute to environmental reports and documentation.
+ Comfortable working independently in a remote and field-based role.
+ Familiarity with water level meters, PID, flow meters, etc.
Work Environment
This position offers a flexible and relaxed work atmosphere with a fully remote option, allowing for a mix of work from home and fieldwork.
The job is primarily based in areas ranging from Tampa to the Space Coast, including Orange, Polk, Lake, Brevard, and Volusia County.
Long-term contracts with established clients provide diverse project types and a supportive work environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Cloud, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.
