Job description

The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics ( www.virginia.edu/bmg ) and the University of Virginia Cancer Center, one of 56 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the nation, seek to expand their cancer research faculty.

We invite applicants for Assistant, Associate and Full Professor (tenure-track/tenured) appointments, who address contemporary problems in the biology of aging and cancer.

We are particularly interested in the areas of epigenetic regulation, metabolomics and mechanisms of drug resistance.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in the life sciences and must have demonstrated the capacity for high-quality scholarship and maintaining an extramurally funded independent research program if at the more senior career stages.

Support will include a start-up package, laboratory space, and an exceptionally interactive research environment.
