Job Title:
Open Rank Tenure Track Faculty
Department:

The Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position (open rank) with a focus in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Candidates will be appointed in the Department of Management and Human Resources (with a potential for joint appointments across departments or colleges) but must demonstrate significant AI expertise as a core element of their scholarship whether through the creation of new AI methods, new knowledge about the use of AI in management, or novel use of AI techniques that materially advance knowledge, methods, or practice in the field of management.
For this search, “AI” includes (but is not limited to) machine learning (ML), deep learning, reinforcement learning, optimization for/with ML, probabilistic modeling, trustworthy/responsible AI (fairness, safety, privacy, robustness, interpretability), human-centered AI, NLP, computer vision, robotics, scientific/physics-informed ML, AI systems and infrastructure, as well as domain-driven AI advancements in and across disciplines.
In addition to the disciplinary requirements for potential selection as a faculty in Management and Human Resources, a qualified candidate will develop, advance, or rigorously evaluate AI methods relevant to the field of management.
For example, a candidate may contribute to knowledge about AI in management by: (a) integrating AI into entrepreneurial, managerial, or strategic processes, (b) addressing how AI may lead to changes in value creation, capture, or delivery, or (c) examining the ethical use of AI in recruitment, selection, supervision, and other managerial functions.
A candidate should produce generalizable advancements in knowledge, insights, or methods for the use of AI in management.
Routine use of off-the-shelf AI tools that does not produce methodological innovation or field-advancing knowledge is not sufficient for an AI faculty hire.
All courses are taught in person on the University’s main campus in Columbus, Ohio.
