About the Opportunity

Our client, a nationally recognized leader in creating safe and efficient critical workspace environments, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in Cary, North Carolina.

This is an exciting full-time opportunity for a professional with a strong background in operations, project management, and consulting services.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and profitable delivery of services.

This role involves overseeing proposals, project execution, staffing, billing, and process improvement efforts.

You’ll work closely with leadership, internal teams, and clients to maintain high service standards while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Development

  • Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to define project scopes, budgets, and client proposals

  • Track and manage proposal opportunities using the CRM system

  • Project Oversight & Resource Management

  • Coordinate with the COO to optimize staff utilization and resource scheduling

  • Distribute monthly project summary reports and budgeted hours to consultants

  • Support project managers with risk management and quality control

  • Contribute to hiring, training, and performance evaluation initiatives

  • Operational Leadership

  • Lead day-to-day operations aligned with strategic priorities and client needs

  • Identify and implement workflow improvements for service delivery, cost control, and client satisfaction

  • Monitor and report on KPIs related to project performance and profitability

  • Financial Oversight

  • Partner with the Finance team and COO to monitor budgets and project financials

  • Track revenue, invoicing, and expenses to ensure efficient use of resources

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for revenue growth

  • Client Relationship Management

  • Act as a primary point of contact for operational matters with key clients

  • Build strong, lasting relationships with client stakeholders and partners

  • Strategic Support

  • Report regularly to leadership on project performance, challenges, and business opportunities

  • Help shape operational strategy and support a positive, collaborative company culture

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field

  • + years of experience in operations, project management, or consulting services

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Proven experience with budgeting, proposal development, and client delivery

  • Familiarity with consulting operations, including resource planning and performance metrics

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business tools (, CRM, project management software)

  • Experience in HVAC or laboratory environments is a plus

  • Some travel may be required for meetings or team events
