Front Desk/Technician (Training Offered)
Location: Herndon, VA
Job Type: Full-Time (4-5 days per week, including rotating Saturdays)
Starting Pay: $18/hour
Benefits: 10 days PTO, your birthday off (paid), six paid holidays, employee eyewear and exam discounts
About the Role
We're looking for a Front Desk/Technician to be the welcoming face and voice of our practice.

You'll make patients feel at ease the moment they walk in, keep the front desk running smoothly, and ensure the entire visit is seamless from start to finish.
While your primary responsibilities are front desk and patient coordination, you'll also have the chance to train as an Optometric Technician - learning clinical support skills that expand your career opportunities in eye care.
What You'll Do
Greet patients and provide a warm, professional first impression
Answer calls, schedule appointments, and manage reminders
Confirm insurance eligibility and help patients understand their coverage
Check patients in/out and process payments accurately
Maintain an organized, welcoming front desk and reception area
Train on diagnostic equipment and pre-testing procedures
Support the optometrist by preparing exam rooms and recording patient histories
Assist patients with contact lens training and orders (after training)
Jump in to help with other office needs as the day requires
What We're Looking For
At least one year of front desk/receptionist experience in Optometry or Ophthalmology required
A friendly, professional communicator who puts patients at ease
Dependable and punctual - someone who can be counted on daily
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks at once
Tech-comfortable and willing to learn new systems quickly
Excited to grow into technician duties with training provided
Schedule
Typical hours:
Monday 9-6
Tuesday 10-7
Wednesday 9-6
Thursday 10-7
Friday 8-5
Saturday 9-3 (rotating)
Work week is 4-5 days depending on clinic needs
