Oracle ERP Consultant
Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of an Oracle ERP Consultant for a contract position in Austin, TX.
The opportunity will be for three months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:The Senior Principal Software Engineer is responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting software in accordance with our systems quality standards, policies, and procedures.
Key accountabilities include:
- Analysing business needs and creating software solutions.
- Preparing design documentation and test data for unit, string, and parallel testing.
- Evaluating and recommending software and hardware solutions to meet user needs.
- Resolving customer issues with software solutions and responding to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
- Working with business and development teams to clarify requirements and ensure testability.
- Drafting, revising, and maintaining test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts.
- Executing test procedures according to software requirements specifications.
- Logging defects and making recommendations to address defects, and retesting software corrections to ensure problems are resolved.
- Documenting the evolution of testing procedures for future replication and potentially conducting performance and scalability testing.
- The role involves planning, conducting, and managing assignments that generally involve large, high-budget cross-functional projects or multiple projects.
Qualifications:
- Test Execution (5+ years) – Strong background in manual or automated testing in financial systems.
- Oracle R12 Financials – Experience with Oracle's ERP suite, especially the Financials modules.
- SQL – Ability to write and execute queries for data validation, reporting, or troubleshooting.
- Excel – Proficiency in spreadsheets, for test data management, reporting, or analysis.
- Assisting in creating the strategic technical and architectural direction for the programming function.
- Serving as the point of contact between IT and key business users or senior leadership to define IT solutions based on business needs.
- Driving changes in architecture, methodology, or programming procedures.
- Performing estimation efforts on the most complex projects and tracking progress.
- Obtaining detailed specifications from business users and developers to ascertain specific output information requirements.
- Preparing detailed plans for managing cross-testing team dependencies.
- Serving as the testing consultant to leaders in the IT organization and functional user groups.Mentoring team members on all aspects of testing concepts.
