About the Role
This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native).
The role’s charter is to design, implement and maintain security controls that protect Workday's Public Cloud resources against unauthorised use, modification and loss while allowing for the efficient delivery of services to its customers.
Responsibilities include:
Design and deploy security services, tools and automated controls across the various platforms in Workday's Public Cloud environments;
Improve in-house security tooling and solutions;
Stay ahead of industry technology and business trends.
Actively drives product technology and engineering process innovation to help Workday be a leader in Security;
About You
Basic Qualifications:
7+ years of progressively responsible experience in the area of security tools development or technical security architecture and design.
Experience securing infrastructure hosted on cloud service providers like AWS, GCP and Azure.
Working knowledge of cloud security concepts and professional hands-on experience documenting and implementing security controls of the same.
Proficient in at least one scripting language with the ability to apply automation to ensure desired and consistent security configurations are maintained.
(Bash, Python, Ruby etc.)
A working understanding of network, application and platform security tools and concepts;
Desired Qualifications:
Operational experience supporting production systems;
Certificates or courses taken against cloud service providers like AWS, GCP and Azure.
Understanding of application, system, and security threats, attack techniques and mitigating controls;
Practical knowledge of Linux systems;
Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Chef, Ansible etc).

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
