The Palo Verde Summer internship is a paid 10 week program.
During the 10 weeks at Palo Verde you will be equipped with the tools needed to thrive and be challenged with meaningful individual projects.
You will get support from leaders who will help you succeed.
The APS internship program was recognized in 2020 and 2021 as a Top 100 Internship Program.
Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in a New Hire Orientation, Professional Development opportunities and company tours to learn more about Palo Verde and Arizona Public Service.

Minimum Requirements
Actively enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university undergraduate Mechanical/Chemical Engineering program.
Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training.
Preferred: Minimum GPA of 3.2.
Nuclear requirement: Any PVGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
Any PVGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.

The primary recruiting method for Palo Verde is through attendance of college career fairs.

Major Accountabilities
1) Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs.
May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies.
2) Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews.
Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.
3) Utilizes internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.
4) Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.
5) Performs other related duties as required.
