Class Summary



This position pays $75.00 per hour, up to 29 hours per week (not to exceed 1,560 hours per year).

This position is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.




Job Description

This position will be responsible for supporting Asset Management activities at GCDWR’s facilities, including three Water Reclamation Plants, two Water Production Facilities, and over 200 pumps stations throughout the County.


Essential Duties

+ Create, improve, and implement asset management plans and strategies.

+ Maintain accurate asset records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System, including information condition, criticality, location, and cost.

+ Assist in conducting process optimization workshops.



+ Support the continuous flow of asset management information, including service life, performance life probabilities, failure modes and rehabilitation information.

+ Provide technical support and advice on asset management.

+ Develop cost-effective asset management solutions to minimize downtime and optimize costs.

+ Train staff in asset management procedures and best practices.

+ Assist in monitoring technical and financial performance indicators for assets.

+ Contribute to performance reporting and stakeholder communications.

+ Suggest improvements associated with the implementation and monitoring of activities related to the 5-year capital plan.

+ Work closely with the Plant Engineers and Programmatic Rehab teams to support Operations and Maintenance.

Hourly rate
This position pays $75.00 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in engineering; AND

+ Five (5) years' experience in Water/Wastewater Treatment

+ An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.


+ Valid Driver's license from state of residency

Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
Knowledge of:


+ Principles of Asset Management

+ Engineering principles and standards

Skills in:

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus.

+ Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements

+ Positions in this class require: stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

+ Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.

+ Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, dust, gases, chemicals, extreme temperatures, intense noises and travel.
