Position Summary
The Computer Lab Lead should have effective communication skills to deal with customer support issues as well as student supervision.
The Computer Lab Lead is responsible for some installation, configuration and maintenance of software, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
Duties include ensuring the security of computers, care of the lab equipment, upkeep of supplies, and providing a smooth operation.
The incumbent will be responsible for supervision, instruction, training and orientation of student staff, including demonstrating the proper use of a computer and software.
Provide technical assistance, ensure proper maintenance and security of all aspects of the computer labs within the Information Technology Services rules and guidelines.
Assist faculty with lab reservation or with special software requests; act as a back up to the Lab Manager with duties such as maintaining procedural or training documentation.
Responsible for the cleanliness and safety of all computing labs, conduct daily walkthrough of labs and ensure that every component of the lab is working properly.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
Pay rate: $16.66/hour - $22/hour
The successful candidate is expected to work up to 16 hours per week, hours flexible with student schedules.
This position typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.
The temporary hourly employment is limited to the earlier of 1,050 hours or 12 consecutive months beginning from the original date of hire.
Per , following 1,050 hours or 12 consecutive months, an individual is not eligible for re-employment at Bellevue College in another temporary part-time hourly position.
Temporary hourly employees who work more than three hundred fifty (350) hours in a twelve consecutive month period may be subject to provisions of one the collective bargaining agreements covering Classified employees at Bellevue College.
This position is expected to NOT be eligible for benefits because eligibility is limited only to employees working at least an average of 80 hours in eligible employment for more than 6 consecutive months and at least 8 hours a month.

About the Department
The Information Technology Services (ITS) division is comprised of six departmental teams: The Office of the Vice President, Digital Media Services, Infrastructure, Integration, Technical Support Services, and Office of IT Business Operation.
ITS supports all campus computing - both academic and administrative.
The division manages networking and server components, performance and quality of all college websites, the web portal, software and application development, as well as data and administrative system support.
ITS provides in-person workshops and training to faculty and staff, and offers an array of video production services including live streaming campus events as well as producing original programming to support college activities.
ITS broadcasts 24/7 programming for the College and outlying community on the College Channel television station.
