WORLD LANGUAGES & CULTURES - PART-TIME LECTURER POOL.
The Department of World Languages and Cultures, College of Liberal Arts, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers.
Positions are available as determined by need and funding in the Fall, Winter, and/or Spring Quarters during the 2025-2026 academic year, which begins September 11, 2025.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience and time base.
Applicants must be capable of teaching one or more of the following language courses: Elementary or intermediate French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin [in Traditional Character Form], and/or Spanish.
In addition, the department also seeks applicants qualified to teach advanced-level courses in Spanish, or subtopic classes (., Latin America, Mexico, China, Italy) for the course Humanities in World Cultures: a writing-intensive, upper-division General Education class taught in English.
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department.
Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677
Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224
Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523
Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,221
