The English Program invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track lecturer for undergraduate courses in English.
Primary duties include teaching 1 or 2 English classes during a 4.5 month semester.
Faculty members are expected to teach, develop syllabi and teaching materials related to courses taught, and hold regular office hours.
Specific areas for which a lecturer is needed are American Literature, British Literature, Composition, Creative Writing-Fiction, English as a Second Language, and Technical Writing.
Faculty are hired, evaluated, and retained on the basis of conditions covered in the Union Contract.
Required Education An MA or MFA in English or related field is required.
Degree must be from an accredited institution.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to work effectively with students of various ages and of diverse competencies and backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in teaching college English, an ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population, strong organizational skills, and experience using instructional technology.
