Faculty Employment Opportunity

POSITION:

LECTURER OPENINGS IN ENGLISH: The Department of English invites applications for multiple, on-going, Lecturer appointments.

Lecturers appointed to these positions will teach primarily in the areas of composition and critical thinking (with argumentative writing emphasis).

There may also be openings in general education literature and humanities survey courses, as well as courses in technical and professional writing.

Well-qualified lecturers with suitable preparation and interest will be considered for available literature, humanities and/or technical /professional writing courses.

This position is contingent upon availability of authorized funding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

COMPENSATION:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.


Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2.

Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range.

The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS: CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be immunized against COVID-19 or declare a medical or religious exemption from doing so.

The English Department at CSU Stanislaus offers a general English BA, as well as a TESOL Concentration, English SSMP, and an English minor.

We also have an MA program with concentrations in Literature, TESOL, and Rhetoric of Teaching & Writing.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CLEARANCE NOTICE

The university requires a criminal and/or child abuse background check to be completed for many of its new employees, current employees seeking promotional or transfer opportunities, and current employees assigned new duties.

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
