POSITION:
Part-Time Lecturer in Social Work: The Department of Social Work invites applications for part time instructors.
The person(s) appointed to these positions will teach one or more graduate level courses in Social Work Practice or will serve as faculty field liaison for Field Practicum courses.
Beyond the normal teaching responsibilities associated with courses, field liaisons serve as a primary university representative in collaborations involving field instructors and students in practicum.
Field liaisons must visit assigned students and field instructors in their agency settings, provide consultation and collaboration, review students’ learning contracts, assist in the evaluation of student performance, and facilitate integrative field seminars on a bi-weekly basis.
Field liaisons are also expected to participate in student field orientations and field instructor training.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree and a minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience.
Prior teaching or training experience.
Experience and demonstrated competence working with a diverse group of people.
Flexibility and control over personal schedule and personal transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance are required for field liaison assignments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years of post-MSW practice experience that includes supervisory responsibilities is preferred.
Prior teaching experience at the college level is highly desirable.

COMPENSATION:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.
Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2.
Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range.
The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CLEARANCE NOTICE
The university requires a criminal and/or child abuse background check to be completed for many of its new employees, current employees seeking promotional or transfer opportunities, and current employees assigned new duties.
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
