Part Time Program Director for TESOL/Bilingual



Job description

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: Execute the administrative responsibilities equivalent to those of a graduate level department chair in TESOL/Bilingual teacher preparation program.

Principal Responsibilities: Maintain virtual office hours, three clock hours per week, to advise current and prospective TESOL/Bilingual students.

Work with LIU Hudson's Recruitment Manager to enhance enrollment in TESOL/Bilingual programs.

Explain programs, curricula, etc.

to prospective students.

Review the admission files of TESOL/Bilingual applicants.Audit the files for TESOL/Bilingual students who have filed intent to graduate forms.

Collaborate with the Director of Field Experience and Outreach as needed to assure that students are in appropriate student/supervised teaching placements.

Conduct virtual department meetings as needed with adjunct faculty.

Create the schedule of TESOL/Bilingual teacher education course offerings for fall, spring, summer sessions and hire, mentor and supervise adjunct faculty.

Education Requirements: New York State ESL certification, Master's degree
