**Location:** **Hybrid: This position is based and requires candidates to reside within one of the preferred locations, which include San Francisco, New York City, Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, and Austin.
Candidates located within 25 miles of a DXC office will be required to work onsite 2 times per week.**
**Role Overview:** The Payments Engineer is responsible for building the services, APIs, and orchestration components that power CoreIgnite’s real-time and embedded finance capabilities.
You will play a hands-on role in enabling monetizable fintech use cases by delivering performant, secure, and compliant code.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Develop APIs and backend services supporting real-time payments, account validation, and fintech integration.
Build smart routing, status tracking, and exception handling into orchestration flows.
+ Implement scalable, event-driven microservices that support high transaction throughput.
+ Leverage AI-assisted tools to boost productivity and code quality.
+ Contribute to test automation, security validation, and monitoring infrastructure.
**What We're Looking For**
+ 8–12 years in backend software engineering, ideally in banking or fintech.
+ Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, Go, Python, Node.js).
+ Understanding of payment protocols (e.g., RTP, ISO 20022) and banking workflows.
+ Experience building secure, high-availability systems in cloud-native environments.
