The PC Desktop Technician II operates and monitors computer equipment.
Performs routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and their peripherals.
Observes peripheral equipment and error messages displayed on monitor of terminal to detect faulty output or machine stoppage.
Monitors and controls computer systems and applications; maintains a working knowledge of enterprise computing environments; monitors data Communications Network to ensure that network is available to all systems.
Trains other operators to use/monitor equipment.
Effectively communicates issues/errors/failures to supervisors to ensure timely resolutions.
Responsible for maintaining complete log entries for specific systems that is being monitored and for complete and accurate turnover to the succeeding shift operators.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The individual shall provide desktop support services and respond to and resolve service requests.Operate the Service Desk with Tier II systems support, to include providing on-site services for walk-in inquiries.Provide problem resolution services in the areas of equipment maintenance, software and network infrastructure including remote access necessary to provide state-of-the-art performance that may include hardware and software installation and upgrades, troubleshooting, system configuration, and design and maintenance of databases.Perform analytical, evaluation, management, and maintenance duties related to local network system components, software, peripherals and functionality of automated data processing and communications equipment.The ability to provide and implement solutions to reported and discerned problems reported on this and related equipment/networks.Perform network management responsibilities to include on-site monitoring of systems workload, system hardware component installation, configuration and operation.Perform computer imaging and re-imagingAssist with possible after-hours support and rotating scheduleOther duties as assignedREQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
CompTIA Security+ certification requiredTwo to four (2-4) years of IT related experience performing the duties of a PC Desktop TechnicianHigh School Diploma or GED or related discipline preferred or have equivalent experienceREQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
