Physics Adjunct Job Opening In Dubuque – Now Hiring Clarke University

Dubuque, IA, USA | Physics | Part Time

Clarke University is seeking applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach the introductory course, Elements of Physics II with a lab (6 contact hours/week) for upper-level science students beginning January 2026 .

The position requires a master's degree or a doctorate in a related physical science area.

Candidates who are ABD will be considered.

If hired, the instructor will be expected to teach face-to-face on the Clarke University campus in Dubuque, IA.



Elements of Physics II is the second half of a two-semester sequence, introducing the basic concepts of physics.

This course is a lab-enhanced, algebra-based introduction to fluids/pressure, waves/sound, thermodynamics, basics of electricity and magnetism and their applications, and a brief introduction to atomic structure and quantum mechanics.

This course is offered by the chemistry program and serves as a required service course for the biology, chemistry, and physical therapy programs.
