Job description

OCI Oracle Hardware Development (OHD) is looking for a software engineer to join the team designing our next generation automation infrastructure for system integration quality engineering.

Oracle’s Hardware Development Group designs and delivers server platforms and other hardware components for Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure and Engineered Systems.


We are looking for an experienced software engineer with a proven ability and strong interest in automating infrastructure and services for hardware platforms.

You will join the team that is focused on our automation infrastructure to help find new and innovative ways to break our platforms.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in embedded and server technologies including GPUs, networking, storage, RAS, error injections, HW/SW security and experience automating in these areas.


We are looking for candidates with 8+ years of experience in automation infrastructure for server-level hardware and software or similar embedded HW/SW systems who have experience contributing to small technical teams.


Skills required:

  • Excellent test script automation, object-oriented coding skills in either Python, Java, C++, TypeScript, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in writing and optimizing automated GPU regression test flow targeting embedded and server hardware.
  • Experience with service-based architectures, Linux, containers, pytest is preferred
  • Experience with REST, database, virtualization, Jenkins, CI/CD and Kubernetes or similar management of infrastructure servers/containers is desirable
  • Experience in working with Agile scrum-based development efforts
  • Motivated to prioritize and deliver with minimal supervision.
  • As a member of the platform software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to deliver software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing automation.

    You will build enhancements within existing software architecture and identify improvements to the infrastructure.

  • Join the team developing and updating our automation infrastructure.
  • Work closely with various teams and working groups to scope and prioritize automation needs with the focus on maximizing the fully automated testing infrastructure for GPU sustaining and NPI test cycles.
  • Contribute to the architecture of the test case methodology to minimize the efforts required to enable automation on new platforms and platform configurations.
  • Capture and prioritize the continuous improvement efforts for test infrastructure needed by the Platform QE team.
  • Drive the evaluation and discussion of new tools and methods that can make our platform automation more efficient.
  • Work with the test execution teams to enable their members the opportunity to engage in test automation activities.
  • Work with the platform software teams to optimize the path from a release build to deployment to our internal cloud and engineered systems customers.
  • May lead specialized area which may have diverse functional elements.

    Frequent interactions with senior management and functional peers.

    Need strong communication skills, analytical skills, and a good understanding of product development.

    BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

    US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum.

    May be eligible for bonus and equity.
