Playwright Automation Tester

ALTA IT Services is staffing a 4-month+ contract opening for an experienced Playwright Automation Tester.
This is a US-based, remote position, supporting a Midwest energy customer, following Eastern time zone hours.
The SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with Playwright is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Playwright for web applications, ensuring software quality and test coverage.
Key duties include creating robust test automation solutions, integrating tests with CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams, performing manual and exploratory testing, and developing code in languages like JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
Key Responsibilities
+ Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
+ Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to identify test scenarios, ensure adequate test coverage, and understand requirements.
+ CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) to enable continuous testing.
+ Manual & Exploratory Testing: Conduct manual and exploratory testing as needed to uncover defects and validate complex workflows.
+ Bug Tracking: Identify, document, and track bugs and issues through resolution using bug tracking systems.
+ Test Strategy & Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the testing process, help define test strategies, and mentor junior team members.
+ API Testing: Develop and maintain automated tests for REST and SOAP APIs.
+ Data Validation: Write SQL queries to mine data from databases for testing efforts.
Required Skills & Experience
+ Playwright: Extensive experience with Playwright for web automation.
+ Programming Skills: Strong programming or scripting skills in modern languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
+ Test Frameworks: Experience with test frameworks like Mocha/Jest or knowledge of others like TestNG, Junit.
+ API Testing Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Postman for API testing.
+ CI/CD Tools: Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
+ Agile Environments: Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
+ SQL: Ability to write SQL queries for data mining.
+ Collaboration & Communication: Strong collaboration and communication skills.
